Jeter Day Block Party
YOU are invited to help celebrate Derek Jeter Day on Sept. 7, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., on Rivera Avenue! The New York Yankees are honoring “The Captain” inside Yankee Stadium that day, but you can join the party outside! There will be cake, music and souvenirs. Anne Hutchinson Festival
BPMM and NYC Parks join forces to celebrate the 420th anniversary of Anne Hutchinson’s birth. The festival is just one of a year-long calendar of Bronx events to honor her. Hutchinson (1591-1643), who eventually settled in what is now the Bronx, was an outspoken advocate for freedom of religion and women’s equality in religious matters. She was tried for heresy. Music, games, crafts, storytelling, and more will be ongoing throughout
