Meet the Artist: Kevin Quiles Bonilla

Join Kevin Quiles Bonilla and Curator of Visual Arts Eileen Jeng Lynch for a conversation about Bonilla’s installation in the Sunroom. They discuss the colonial history of Puerto Rico, commodification of Caribbean culture for the tourist industry, and the notion of the beach as a politically charged site of trauma and power in Bonilla’s work. “Meet the Artist” is an ongoing series of conversations between exhibiting artists and the curatorial team at Wave Hill. This program provides an opportunity for Wave Hill visitors, the artist’s community and others to learn more about an artist’s creative process and themes within their work.
