Kid Capri may be best known to the current generation of rap fans for his extended cameos on Kendrick Lamar’s classic 2017 LP DAMN., but he’s been behind the decks since he was in short pants. From spinning sets at Manhattan’s famed hotspot Studio 54 to slinging his mixtapes of his sets, Capri quickly graduated to the big leagues, producing records for the likes of icons like Jay-Z, Heavy D, and 50 Cent, becoming one himself in the process. The Bronx legend brings his Sirius XM show Kid Capri’s Block Party to the Bronx, live and direct, with support from his daughter Vina Love—the only guest rapper on his latest full length album The Love—and the rap duo The Hoodies, whose latest single “I Don’t Get Mad” preaches the benefits of getting paid over getting even.
