Forest Restoration Fridays

Van Cortlandt Park boasts 640 acres of forest and wetlands right here in the Bronx. Help staff maintain the forest every Friday! Every Friday during August 2022, volunteers can join VCPA staff in maintaining the Northwest Forest of Van Cortlandt Park. Work will entail the removal of non-indigenous plant species such as winged euonymus, multiflora rose, and Norway maple. RSVP on Eventbrite Volunteers can meet VCPA staff outside the Educational Garden and Compost Site, located nearby the Riverdale Stables parking lot. We will provide gloves and any tools needed for the project. Make sure to wear long pants and closed-toed shoes, and bring along plenty of water. We look forward to seeing you out in the park!
