Arts, Culture & Fun: Nature Painting

Join NYC Parks’ Arts, Culture & Fun for a watercolor landscape workshop in partnership with Seeds of the League. Join Artist Amy DiGi in the park to learn how to draw and paint using nature as our inspiration. She is teaching all levels from beginners to advanced. Come learn about light, color, and design while making art en plein air (outside) while enjoying the fresh air in the park. For your comfort, bring a mat, blanket, or folding chair to sit on. Feel free to bring your own watercolors, paper, water, and brushes. Supplies will be provided as well. Amy DiGi is a plein air artist working in both rural and city locations. She is a United States Coast Guard artist and an Arts in Embassy artist. She received her MFA from Lehman College and BFA from Pratt Institute. Seeds of the League is the Art Students League’s community program. Registration Please register on Eventbrite at paintingvcp.eventbrite.com , and note that the class size is limited to 25 participants and will be on a first-come, first-serve basis on the day of the workshop. Families are welcome. Please note: This summer, due to the coronavirus pandemic, we’re offering outdoor programs with limited attendance so that you can have a safe and enjoyable time in parks. Based on New York State guidance for sports and recreation during COVID-19, we’ve put protocols into place to keep our participants and staff safe and healthy. We’re asking everyone to help us stay safe: Stay home if you’re sick Maintain six feet of physical distance between households Wear a face covering Wash your hands Additionally, we encourage participants to bring their own hand sanitizer to our programming. Note: Some programs may be modified, rescheduled, or cancelled due to weather, health, or safety concerns.
