Arts, Culture & Fun: John Benitez Quintet

Join Parks’ Arts, Culture & Fun for an outdoor jazz concert in the park with the Jazz Benitez Quintet. Born and raised in Puerto Rico and based in the Bronx, Grammy-winning bassist/composer/arranger John Benitez has led an accomplished career, working with major artists in a range of styles from Tito Puente, Eddie Palmieri and Batacumbele to Wynton Marsalis, Chucho Valdés, and Roy Hargrove. For this concert, he leads a special latin jazz sextet. Please feel free to bring your own chairs, mats, or towels to sit on. Presented by the Jazz Foundation of America, with support from the National Endowment for the Arts, the New York State Council on the Arts, and the NYC Department of Cultural Affairs.
