The Police Athletic League (PAL) is looking for volunteers to continue its mission of serving New York City’s young people by donating their time and talents to help serve Bronx youngsters at PAL’s Webster-Giannone Center serving Fordham and Tremont, PS 48 in Hunts Point and PAL’s New South Bronx Center.
The Love Your Block Grant Awards is a partnership that involves the Mayor’s NYC Service division, Citizens Committee for New York City, and volunteer-led neighborhood groups that wish to beautify and revitalize their blocks. This multi-faceted program -now in its third year- combines grant money, project planning assistance, and a variety of key city services that all go towards supporting grassroots groups in their block beautification efforts.
Digital Media and Fine Arts Classes for All Ages- The fall session of the Bronx River Art Center’s (BRAC) after school and Saturday fine art and digital media classes will begin October 11th, and the registration period will be from September 27th through October 9th.Registration for the fall classes will be at BRAC’s new temporary headquarters at 2064 Boston Road at 179th Street, Monday through Friday from 3 to 6 pm
An awesome first time ever Bronx Food Summit is happening on May 1st. The summit is a day long event about eating well in the Bronx. The summit will serve to bring together Bronx residents, food lovers, food justice advocates, local businesses, schools and community organizations to discuss options for healthier food and better living in our borough. There will be hands on workshops and informative seminars to teach teach participants
