Bronx Youth Journalism Program-Deadline Extended

The Bronx News Network, in collaboration with College Now, is running a free journalism program for Bronx high school students. They have extended the deadline to this Friday, Jan. 28, and we’re looking for a few more eager applicants. The next semester starts on Feb. 2. Classes will be held at Hostos Community College at 450 Grand Concourse on Wednesday afternoons from 4 to 6 p.m., and run for 12 weeks.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED AT POLICE ATHLETIC LEAGUE CENTERS

The Police Athletic League (PAL) is looking for volunteers to continue its mission of serving New York City’s young people by donating their time and talents to help serve Bronx youngsters at PAL’s Webster-Giannone Center serving Fordham and Tremont, PS 48 in Hunts Point and PAL’s New South Bronx Center.

Bronx River Art Center Offers Fall 2010 Semester+ FREE Workshops!

Digital Media and Fine Arts Classes for All Ages- The fall session of the Bronx River Art Center’s (BRAC) after school and Saturday fine art and digital media classes will begin October 11th, and the registration period will be from September 27th through October 9th.Registration for the fall classes will be at BRAC’s new temporary headquarters at 2064 Boston Road at 179th Street, Monday through Friday from 3 to 6 pm
