UNITED STATES SURGEON GENERAL REGINA BENJAMIN  BRINGS HEALTHY MESSAGE TO BRONX CHILDREN’S MUSEUM’S  “DREAM BIG” CELEBRATION

Never underestimate kid power. That’s the message of the Bronx Children’s Museum’s Dream Big program, which on Saturday celebrated the completion of its second summer of children’s workshops at community centers throughout the borough with a day of festivities hosted by Hostos Community College. The kids lived up to the message, using their power to attract important mentors, including this year’s honoree, United States Surgeon General Regina Benjamin.

CALLING BRONX TEENS FOR POLICE ATHLETIC LEAGUE’S TEEN IMPACT CENTERS

Bronx teenagers, ages 14 to 19, can sign up now for the Police Athletic League’s (PAL) Teen Impact Centers in the Bronx. Through local partnerships with schools, faith-based institutions and community centers, PAL provides Bronx young people a safe haven to interact with their peers in sports and recreation programs, participate in team-building activities, attend Crime Prevention Workshops and showcase their creative skills in arts workshops. During the week, youth
