The Metropolitan Opera and the City of New York have launched Opera for All, a new program that will make 70,000 free tickets available to New Yorkers during the 2026–27 season. The program is designed for New Yorkers who haven’t experienced the Met before. If you have not purchased a Met Opera ticket since 2019, you are eligible to enter the lottery.
The tickets will be released through a monthly lottery, with 10,000 tickets available each month throughout the season. Tickets can be anywhere in the opera house, except standing room, so there’s a chance to experience the Met from a variety of locations throughout the theater.
New Yorkers can enter the monthly lottery through the Met Opera app or online through the city’s Opera for All program.
