Tour de Bronx returns this October — Here’s how to register

The Tour de Bronx is returning this fall, giving cyclists of all ages the chance to ride through the borough as part of one of New York State’s largest free cycling events. The 32nd Annual Tour de Bronx will take place on Sunday, October 4, 2026, and registration is expected to open soon. The annual event is presented by the Bronx Tourism Council in partnership with the Office of the Bronx Borough President and attracts thousands of riders from across New York City and beyond.

This year’s Tour de Bronx will offer three route options, so riders can choose the distance that works best for them:

  • 10-mile family-friendly route
  • 25-mile route
  • 40-mile route

All rides will begin at 161st Street and the Grand Concourse and finish at the New York Botanical Garden. Along the way, riders will get to experience different parts of the Bronx, with routes traveling through areas including the South Bronx, Wakefield, Riverdale, Orchard Beach and waterfront parks.

How it works

The 10-mile route is designed to be family-friendly, making it a good option for families and newer cyclists who want to participate without committing to one of the longer rides. The event does take place on streets that remain open to vehicular traffic. Riders are expected to follow traffic laws and use caution. NYPD officers will be stationed at key intersections, while volunteers will help direct riders along the routes. The ride will also include rest stops with water, snacks, restrooms and first-aid support.

The Tour de Bronx does not send everyone out at once. Riders will depart in waves, with the 40-mile riders starting first, followed approximately 15 minutes later by the 25-mile riders and then the 10-mile riders. Registered riders will receive a numbered bib at check-in. One thing to keep in mind: the official routes are not expected to be released until approximately 6 a.m. on the morning of the tour, so riders won’t know the exact route details until event day.

Need a bike?

Don’t have your own bike? Bike rentals are available through the event’s rental partner, Unlimited Biking, so you can still participate without bringing a bike from home.
