When I started Bronxmama in 2008, I was a young mom looking for connection. My oldest Briana was two years old when I started this website, hosting those early play dates in my living room in Castle Hill. I still call some of those moms my friend to this day. My oldest is now in college and my other daughter is on her way to high school, but I am still passionate about sharing resources with Bronx families. Daisha Norales is another Bronx mom passionate about creating a village for her tribe. She created the group BX Mommy & Me Club, creating opportunities for local moms and their children to connect.
The group began with park walks, giving moms a chance to get outside, meet other parents and enjoy some time in the neighborhood with their little ones. But the goal is to grow the group into more than just walks. BX Mommy & Me Club hopes to become a true community hub for Bronx moms, with playground playdates, mom-to-mom collaboration, and a local network where families can connect, share resources and support one another.
