The Bronx School of Hip-Hop is groundbreaking new public high school coming to the birthplace of hip-hop, and on Thursday March 5th families will have a chance to learn more about what it will be and how it will work.
The Bronx School of Hip-Hop is slated to open in Fall 2026 as the first public high school in the nation focused on hip-hop culture, rooted right here in the Bronx. Officials and community partners have pitched it as a way to honor the art form’s local origins while building real opportunities for students in music, entrepreneurship, civic engagement, and academics. The school will blend traditional coursework with hip-hop foundations and pathway programs like internships and college prep.
To help families, educators, and community members get details, the school’s organizers are hosting an info session — a chance to hear directly from the team behind the school, ask questions, and experience a bit of the vision for yourself.
