The Annual Ferragosto Festival returns to Arthur Avenue on Sunday, September 7, 2025. From 12 to 6 pm, Bronx families and visitors alike can stroll through the heart of Bronx Little Italy, enjoying delicious food, live entertainment, and the old-world charm this neighborhood is known for.
The Belmont BID’s Ferragosto Festival has been a highlight for more than 25 years, bringing the community together to celebrate Italian culture while showcasing local small businesses—many of which have been around for generations. Guests can look forward to authentic Italian eats, from pasta and pizza to pastries, as well as live music, entertainment, and plenty of family-friendly fun.
Participating merchants include Arthur Cantina Wine & Liquor, Artuso Pastry Shop, Calabria Pork Store, Emilia’s, Enzo’s, Mario’s, Morrone Pastry Shop, Pasquale’s Rigoletto, Randazzo’s Seafood, Teitel Brothers, Vincent’s Meat Market, Zero Otto Nove, and many more. The Renaissance-style theater group Department of Fools will also be back, adding even more energy to the day. Fans of Chazz Palminteri will want to arrive early—at 2 pm he’ll be at the Arthur Avenue Retail Market signing his A Bronx Tale Cigars and bottles of Chazz Wine.
Ferragosto is one of Italy’s most celebrated holidays, dating back to Emperor Augustus in 18 B.C., and the Bronx’s version has become one of the borough’s biggest cultural events. The festival will take place rain or shine on Arthur Avenue between East 187th Street and Crescent Avenue. Parking is available at Fordham University for $10 with a free shuttle running to and from the festival from 11 am to 7 pm.
If you want to start the celebration early, stop by The Belmont Library & Enrico Fermi Cultural Center on Saturday, September 6 at 2 pm for a special cultural program and a chance to play Tombola, Italy’s favorite game of chance. Ferragosto is all about food, family, and culture—and Arthur Avenue is the perfect place to experience it.
