Looking for something fun (and free!) to do with the family this summer? Mark your calendars for City of Water Day, happening Saturday, July 12th, with dozens of waterfront events across the city—including some great ones right here in the Bronx!
Now in its 18th year, City of Water Day is a region-wide celebration organized by Waterfront Alliance and the New York–New Jersey Harbor & Estuary Program (HEP). The day is dedicated to championing a climate-resilient and accessible waterfront for all New Yorkers, with more than 70 events across all five boroughs, Westchester, Rockland, and New Jersey.
What’s Happening in the Bronx?
From the Bronx River to the Sound, there are plenty of ways for Bronx families to get involved:
- Bronx River Alliance – Free Canoeing & Cleanup
Explore the Bronx River by canoe and help keep it clean and beautiful for the community. - SUNY Maritime College – Boogie Down to the Sound
Head to Throggs Neck for live music, waterfront activities, and more family fun on the Sound. - Rocking the Boat – Community Rowing, Sailing & Birding
Join this South Bronx nonprofit for an afternoon of hands-on experiences out on the water—great for all ages!
