It’s that time of year again! The Orchid Show is back at the New York Botanical Garden for the 20th year in the Bronx. This year’s show, Orchid Show: Natural Heritage is designed by artist Lily Kwong and presents a meditative and captivating design inspired by her ancestral connections to the natural world.
On select nights during The Orchid Show, adults 21 and over can experience the exhibition through Orchid Nights, with music, cash bars, and food available for purchase. We recently had the chance to check it out, and it was such a beautiful evening- perfect for date nights or an evening with friends. Keep reading for a giveaway below!
The Orchid Show runs through Sunday, April 23, 2023 from 10am to 6pm. Orchid Nights are from 7pm to 10pm on select evenings during the show. For more information about Orchid Nights, visit www.nybg.org.
Lily Kwong is a former student in NYBG’s Adult Education program. Lily’s design is a mix of landscape, wellness, and art, connecting people to nature through transformative projects and site-specific botanical art installations. Her work has been featured in the New Yorker, Vogue, Architectural Digest, Domino, Forbes, Fast Company and more, and her designs have been featured in New York City at the High Line and Grand Central Station, as well as in venues and gardens around the world.

What I look most forward to this Spring in the Bronx, is going out more often with my daughter, my friends and their children to spend time with them, exploring the outdoors and making great memories.

Spring is Here and it’s time to start the planting my home garden.
The NY Botanical Garden is the perfect place for my husband I to visit each Spring especially the Perennial Garden and Ladies’ Border to focus on the plants and flowers that are currently in season and bring the inspiration into my own garden. We enjoy seeing the different arrangements of plants and how strategically they are placed. Thank you for labeling the plants so we can visit a nursery and purchase them. A wonderful place to get outside and learn about planting for beginners and experts.

This spring I’m looking forward to fresh starts and moving forward with family and friends. Being out door and enjoying nature. I would bring my hubby to the Orchard Show it looks like it would be an amazing experience and make for a perfect date night
