Winter 2023 visual art & digital media classes in the Bronx

Winter classes at the Bronx River Art Center begin on January 17. Registration is now open for visual art and digital media classes for both children and adults. There are even children and parent together classes.

Mondays (January 23, 30; February 6, 13, 27; March 6, 13, 20, 27; April 3)

  • Introduction to Drawing, 4:30 – 6:30pm: Ages 7-15, Parents Welcome.

Tuesdays (January 17, 24, 31; February 7, 14, 28; March 7, 14, 21, 28)

Beginning Painting, 4:30 – 6:30pm: Ages 7-15, Parents Welcome.

Wednesdays (January 18, 25; February 1, 8, 15; March 1, 8, 15, 22, 29)

  • Digital Art & Design, 4:30 – 6:30pm: Ages 11-15, Teens and Adults.
  • Intro to Art: Painting and Sculpture, 4:30 – 6:30pm: Ages 7-15, Parents Welcome.
  • Ceramics, 4:30 – 6:30pm: Ages 11-15, Teens and Adults.
  • Pottery (Wheel Throwing), 6:30 – 8:30pm: Teens and Adults. CLASS FULL

Thursdays (January 19, 26; February 2, 9, 16; March 2, 9, 16, 23, 30)

  • Manga/Anime Cartooning, 4:30 – 6:30pm: Ages 11-15, Teens and Adults.
  • Digital Photography, 6:30 – 8:30pm, Teens and Adults.

Fridays (January 20, 29; February 3, 10, 17; March 3, 10, 17, 24; March 31)

  • Open Studio & Workshops, 3 – 6pm: Registered students FREE, try-out workshops by donation.

Saturdays (January 21, 28; February 4, 11, 18; March 4, 11, 18, 25; April 1)

  • Printmaking & Drawing, 11am -1pm: Ages 11-15, Teens and Adults.
  • Ceramics,11am-1pm: Ages 11-15, Teens and Adults.
  • Pottery (Wheel Throwing), 2 – 4pm: Teens and Adults. CLASS FULL
  • Digital Animation, 2 – 4pm: Ages 11-15, Teens and Adults.
  • Advanced Painting, 2 – 4pm: Teens and Adults.

The Bronx River Art Center (BRAC) was founded in 1987 to bring professional arts programming to a culturally underserved population. For more than 30 years (including several years of arts programming under the umbrella of the first Bronx River Restoration project), this multi-arts center has filled the West Farms community of the Bronx with art and environmental experiences.
