Halloween Fun in the Bronx

Are you officially in the fall spirit? The temperature has dropped, apples and pumpkins are being picked- and Halloween is right around the corner. So we’ve gathered up a fun list of things to do in the Bronx in the spirit of Halloween, so you can celebrate all month long. We’ll continue to add to this list as more events hit our desk.

Trick or Treat Trek at Bartow Pell Mansion

On Saturday October 30th, trick or treat at Bartow-Pell Mansion Museum! Throw on those costumes, rain or shine, and wander the grounds for a treat- but be prepared for who you might meet!

Boo at the Zoo at the Bronx Zoo

This annual event at the Bronx Zoo happens weekends during October, and is always a hit with the whole family. Enjoy pumpkin carving demos, costume parades, Halloween crafts, and more!

Scarecrows & Pumpkins at the New York Botanical Garden

Head to the New York Botanical Garden to see plentiful pumpkins and hordes of gourds by the Mertz Library Building and Haupt Conservatory Plaza. There are also displays of whimsical scarecrows throughout the Everett Children’s Adventure Garden, pumpkin carving demonstrations, a theatrical production, and more!

Pumpkin Decorating at the Mall at Bay Plaza

Head to the Mall at Bay Plaza for some free pumpkin decorating. Tickets must be picked up in advance at Guest Services starting October 11th while supplies last.

Trick or Treat Pop Up at Confetti Party Place

Head to this Halloween themed pop up shop on October 10th in Pelham Bay. There will be candy and face painting for the kids and some fun Halloween vendors!

36th Annual Bronx Halloween Parade

On Saturday October 23rd, head over to the 36th annual Halloween Parade. The parade starts on Simpson Street and Westchester Avenue at 12pm and there will be prizes for the most creative costumes.

Día de los Muertos Family Art Project at Wave Hill

Celebrate this special Mexican cultural holiday by exploring nicho boxes, small shadow boxes filled with meaning and purpose that honor a lost loved one. Decorate your box with objects and found natural materials.
