Butterflies at the Butterfly Garden – At the chrysalids area you can watch the amazing process of transformation from caterpillar to butterfly — if you’re lucky, you might even see a new butterfly emerge

Brown bears at the Big Bears exhibit – Who you might catch soaking up the sun and splashing around in the shallow water

Farmyard animals at the Children’s Zoo – Pet and feed sheep, donkeys, alpacas, goats and more!

Przewalski’s Horses at the Wild Asia Monorail – Take a trip to the heart of the Asian wilderness; your tour guide will help you spot animals along the way including elephants, rhinos, red pandas, tigers, and many more!

If you’re planning to visit Monday through Thursday, enjoy educational performances at the Bronx Zoo’s Wildlife Theater. Here, kids can learn about animal behaviors, like the migration journey of monarch butterflies, colors in the wild, and the importance of spiders and insects

For those who plan to head to the zoo on the weekends, you can enjoy theatrical performances by Rockefeller Productions, inclusive of interactive book readings, puppet shows, games and music. This includes the US premier of live performances for The Very Busy Spider!
