Free Music Celebration in the Bronx

Make Music Day returns to New York City on the summer solstice for its 15th year. In addition to all five boroughs of New York City, Make Music Day will be celebrated in over 90 cities across the US this year with free, outdoor musical events on, Monday, June 21, 2021.

The all-day musical celebration on the longest day of the year brings New Yorkers of all styles, ages and skill levels together to sing, play, march and dance their way across streets, parks, plazas and other public spaces citywide.

Some highlights of Make Music Day in the Bronx will include:

  • Bronx Arts Ensemble is activating Train Park Garden with a special performance by violinist and composer Evelyn Petcher, featuring her original folk music arrangements and pieces for solo violin, paired with short excerpts from classic solo violin sonatas by J.S. Bach and Eugene Ysaye.
  • New Bronx City, taking place from Lou Gehrig Plaza and the surrounding blocks, is a daylong, multidisciplinary celebration of the borough’s diverse communities and cultures that will entertain and encourage people to imagine a Bronx that is cleaner, safer, fairer and healthier.
