NYC & Company (New York City’s marketing and tourism agency) just launched its new content platform, “The Latino Experience in NYC,” in conjunction with a partnership with Warner Bros. Pictures surrounding the release of In The Heights which was set and filmed in Washington Heights.
The Latino Experience in NYC includes:
- behind the scenes footage and special content from In The Heights featuring exclusive interviews with the cast and the film’s creative team (link below);
- businesses and visitor experiences in other Latino neighborhoods of the City, including Manhattan’s East Harlem neighborhood and Brooklyn’s Bushwick neighborhood;
- as well as new Culture Guides promoting Uruguayan and Peruvian culture in NYC, with itineraries in Ridgewood, Sunset Park and Corona, and a guide to Mexican culture to follow.
While we wish the Bronx was included more in the experience, there is a round up of summer fun in the Bronx entitled Summer in the Bronx: an NYC Love story as part of the campaign. But if a day trip to one of the highlighted neighborhoods is of interest, Bronxites can take the NYC Ferry from Soundview and transfer at Wall Street for the Sunset Park stop to check out the Sunset Park Itinerary. Or get off at the East 90th street stop and walk up to the East Harlem locations listed.
