The Bronx Junior Photo League Free Summer Program Information

Looking for free activities for your teen during the summer? The Bronx Junior Photo League summer program is offering a 6-week long newspaper and zine and photobook-making class for students entering the 7th through 12th grades. The program is completely FREE! In addition, the program is offering two in-person classes and one virtual class.

VIRTUAL – Photobook Class
[7th – 12th Grade]

July 5 – August 11, 2021
Monday + Tuesdays, 4-6PM

Virtual Creative Conversations for all classes on Wednesdays, 4-6PM.

In this virtual photobook class, students will explore different ways of storytelling through the process of designing their own unique photobook. No previous experience is necessary! Apply online.

IN-PERSON – Photobook Class

Tuesdays, 3-6PM

Virtual Creative Conversations for all classes on Wednesdays, 4-6PM.

Students will explore storytelling with photography through the medium of a photobook, experimenting with collaging, zines, and sequencing, ultimately creating their own unique photobook. No previous experience is necessary! Apply online.

IN-PERSON – Advanced Community Newspaper Class
[9th – 12th Grade]

July 5 – August 11, 2021
Mondays, 3-6PM +
Tuesdays, 11AM-2PM

Virtual Creative Conversations for all classes on Wednesdays, 4-6PM.

Students will photograph for and design a community newspaper focused on a five-block radius of the Bronx Documentary Center. Photography or journalism experience is required. Apply online
