If there was ever a time to nominate an exceptional teacher or counselor for the annual Big Apple Awards, it would be now! So many educators have stepped up during this trying time and deserve to be acknowledged. If you have an educator that you’d like to nominate for this year’s awards, you have until January 10th to submit your nomination.
The Big Apple Awards recognize educators across the city who inspire students, model great instruction, and enrich our school community. Any full-time teacher at a district school, charter school, or early childhood education center may be nominated. In addition, this will be the second year of the College and Career Counselor Big Apple Award, honoring counselors who have made significant strides in advancing their students’ postsecondary readiness and success.
Anyone can submit a Big Apple Awards nomination, from parents and students to teachers, staff, and community members. Nominate a teacher or counselor by visiting our website, https://www.schools.nyc.gov/bigappleawards.
Nominations for the 2021 Big Apple Awards are open through Sunday, January 10. Now more than ever before, we owe our teachers a deep debt of gratitude. Make sure to visit the Big Apple Awards website and show your appreciation by submitting a nomination today!
