Halloween Fun in the Hamptons

With Halloween being on a Saturday this year and families unsure about trick-or-treating, it’s the perfect chance to turn the weekend into a fun day trip or weekend getaway. Our friends over at East End Kids Fun shared a fun Halloween roundup with us if you’re thinking about heading East.

Seven Ponds Orchards

Fairview Farm Corn Maize
19 Horsemill Lane, Bridgehampton
Spanning 8-acres, the 10ft tall corn maze offers approximately 2 miles of paths, with 2 bridges allowing spectators astounding views of surrounding farmland, Mecox Bay, and the Atlantic Ocean. This year the theme of the maze is a celebration of the farm’s 20th anniversary. Split up and see who in your family can navigate the maze fastest, the winner gets to pick which of their delicious fruit pies you take home as a treat. Yum!

CMEE’s Teeny Weenie Halloweeny!
Every Friday until Halloween, 5:00-7:00pm at CMEE in Bridgehampton
No Halloween bash this year? No problem! CMEE is throwing recurring Teeny Weenie Halloweeny parties to ensure the season remains a spooky one, with costumes, candy, games, pumpkins, crafts, and more for children of all ages. To ensure social distancing, space is limited and advance registration is required.

Kids Halloween Paint Night 
Thursday 10/29, 6:30-7:30pm at the East End Arts Carriage House in Riverhead (limited space/$25 per person)
Get ready for a spooky night of painting to celebrate Halloween! Kids just have to bring their smiles and creativity, EEA will supply the canvas, paint, and brushes. An EEA instructor will guide kids in a socially distanced setting through the process and assist when needed. There are no mistakes, just masterpieces! What spooky scene will your child paint?

1st Annual Halloween Pumpkin Carving Contest and Lighting at the East Hampton Historical Society 
Saturday 10/31, 6:00pm-7:00pm at the East Hampton Historical Society
(Entries must be dropped off to Mulford Farm between 10:00am-1:00om)
It’s time to think up a creative design for your Jack-O-Lantern entry to the first ever pumpkin carving contest, hosted by the EHHS this Halloween. There is no age limit, or entry/admission fees. Judging will be held for adults (ages 16+) and Juniors (Under 15) in the categories of scariest pumpkin and most creative pumpkin. Please bring your own tealight candle to place inside your pumpkin!
One pumpkin entry per household, please call (631) 324-6850 to reserve your spot.

 

Bats, Barnacles, & Broomsticks at the Long Island Aquarium!
Saturday October 31 from 11:00am to 3:00pm, Long Island Aquarium in Riverhead
Join the Long Island Aquarium and their residents for a Halloween celebration! Bring your family to trick-or-treat safely with the sea lions and penguins. All “buoys” and “ghouls” in costume will get 50% off admission with a paying adult. Don’t miss the 12:30 and 2:30 Sea Lion show and the following Halloween Penguins! Admission is limited, so reservations must be made in advance.

 

Minkie’s Halloween Adventure
Saturday 10/31 at 11:00am or 1:00pm, Guild Hall in East Hampton
Award-winning puppeteer Liz Joyce brings her Halloween Adventure to Guild Hall this Halloween day! Perfect for children aged 3-7, this spooky 25 minute puppet show explores themes of sharing and friendship, with a spooky twist! Each audience member will receive a take-home puppet-making kit and a special Halloween treat from Citarella. Costumes are encouraged!
