Since the pandemic, many of us have tried to support our favorite local restaurants whenever possible with take-out and dining outdoors when our budget allows. It was a beautiful summer spent admiring their creative outdoor dining setups and refreshing take-out quarts of boozy concoctions. But as the temperature drops, the amount of patrons willing to sit outside will thin, and adding heating is yet another expense that many restaurants simply don’t have.
On October 16th, Hello Alice in partnership with DoorDash, will be launching an application for NYC restaurants to apply for $5,000 grants to help with outdoor heating costs. The grants are part of DoorDash’s Main Street Strong Initiative to help restaurants recover and succeed amidst Covid-19 challenges.
