Looking for a fun adventure that you don’t need to leave the city for? Here’s our latest adventure using NYC Ferry- all for the price of a MetroCard!
We jumped on the ferry at the Soundview landing- which is the Bronx’s only NYC Ferry landing until the Ferry Point landing officially launches in 2021. From there, we got off at the first stop- 90th street- to transfer to the Astoria line. From the Astoria Line, we got off at the LIC landing- which leaves you right in front of Gantry Plaza State Park.
It was lunchtime when we arrived, so we decided to head to Anable Basin Sailing Bar & Grill. This waterside restaurant has a simple menu of options like burgers, hot dogs, and kielbasa- along with a full bar. It’s the perfect spot to enjoy a skyline view without breaking the bank.
After lunch, we headed back towards the piers- but not before stopping for ice cream at Something Sweet on Vernon Blvd. There are also plenty of restaurants along the boulevard , and cute shops to stop in and check out.
After ice cream, we headed back to hang out on the pier and enjoy the beautiful weather. The best part was a hammock freeing up to enjoy the skyline view in the best way possible!
