Windows of Hip Hop Hosts 5th Annual Element of Hip Hop Awards

On Tuesday, January 14th, Windows of Hip Hop hosted its 5th annual Element of Hip Hop awards alongside the Bronx Borough President’s office. Each year, the non profit organization chooses to highlight Hip Hop luminaries and enthusiasts who have promoted the Bronx born phenomena known as Hip Hop and advanced the culture forward into the future by instilling in our youth civic mindedness and giving back to the community.

This year’s awards were hosted at hip hop themed restaurant Beatstro, and sponsored by Martell- who kept the drinks flowing throughout the evening. This year’s honorees included Lawyer to the Stars and Owner of the Source Magazine Londell McMillian, Founder of Fever Records, Music Executive Sal Abbatiello, Founder, VJ and Video Director of Video Music Box Ralph McDaniels, original member of Boogie Down Production, DJ D-Nice, and Legendary producer and Rapper of La-Di-Da-Di, one of the most influential records in Hip Hop History, Slick Rick.

Overall it was an awesome event, and we’re looking forward to next years! For more information on Windows of Hip Hop, visit wohh.org.
