Yesterday we had a chance to preview this year’s Holiday Train Show at the New York Botanical Garden, and we’re excited to share all you need to know about this year’s show, as well as a giveaway!
As the palm dome of the historic Enid A. Haupt Conservatory undergoes restoration at The New York Botanical Garden, this year’s Holiday Train Show® will take place in an immersive indoor winter wonderland adjacent to the Haupt Conservatory.
This year’s Holiday Train Show celebrates Central Park and its architectural treasures. Watch model trains zip through a display of more than 175 New York landmarks, which are re-created using natural materials such as birch bark, acorns, and cinnamon sticks. Grand Central Terminal, the Brooklyn Bridge, and the Statue of Liberty are among the favorite Holiday Train Show replicas that have been artistically crafted by founding visionary Paul Busse’s team at Applied Imagination.
Opening on November 23, 2019 through Janury 26, 2020, this year’s exhibition features new replicas of Central Park’s Belvedere Castle, the Dairy, the Old Bandstand, the Angel of the Waters sculpture, and two graceful pedestrian bridges. There is also an all-new introductory video highlighting interviews with Applied Imagination staff and footage from their workshop in Alexandria, Kentucky.

The Rockettes! I last saw them when my daughter was about 5 or 6 and since then no one has been interested in seeing them again, only me. Anyway, my daughter is now 14 and said she wants to go! I’m so excited, lol.

After living here for 17 years, this upcoming holiday will be my first Christmas in NYC. And I want to make it magical for my 3 y/o daughter. So my bucket list would include the Rockefeller Christmas tree lighting, going sledding, and the train show would be the icing on the cake!!! I can already imagine the astonishment she will experience after seeing the immaculate display of trains and lights. #posting2FB
