Celebrate Native American Heritage Month with a FREE Paddle on the Bronx River

In honor of Native American Heritage Month, the Bronx River Alliance has partnered with Moskehtu Consulting to present a paddling tour of the Bronx River and an up close look into the lifeways of indigenous people along the New York Coastlines. On November 2nd and 3rd, participants will have a chance to paddle through the fall foliage, then meet Chenae Bullock and explore the history, culture and traditional experience of Native American people with social dances and a 16th century historical cooking demonstration featuring foods of the fall harvest season. Explore and see first-hand, Native People’s various historical and modern contemporary items, objects from our past, as well as our present; will be on display and available for you to handle under supervision. Learn about Indigenous Plants and medicines that are harvested throughout the Bronx River and where to find them or stop by and Create a native merican dream catcher with a workshop provided by the Bronx Drew Gardens team.
