The Roberto Clemente Award is presented each year to the Major League player who best represents the game of Baseball through extraordinary character, community involvement, philanthropy and positive contributions, both on and off the field. This year, CC Sabathia is nominated and we want to help spread the word!
Beyond his contribution on the field, CC is the co-founder of the PitCCh In Foundation, a nonprofit organization that aims to enrich the lives of inner-city youth by raising their self-esteem through educational and athletic activities in the New York Tri-State area and Northern California. He hosts backpack drives where thousands of backpacks are delivered with supplies for underserved youth, renovates baseball fields and recently raised $1.6 million dollars at his first black tie gala while doing so much more for the community.
