The Bronx Celebrates 20+ Years of the Ferragosto Feast on Arthur Avenue

As a long-standing Italian holiday that recognizes the end of the harvest season and is an opportunity to enjoy the fruits of those labors, the Belmont BID will host the annual Ferragosto Celebration on Sunday, September 8th from 12 pm to 6 pm. While Ferragosto typically takes place on August 15th in Italy, the BID hosts the annual event in the fall to take advantage of the cooler weather. Visitors will be able to enjoy live entertainment and traditional Italian musical performances, vocalists and comedic theatre performed by Commedia Dell’Arte, as well as dozens of local shops and restaurants including Arthur Ave Fiasco, San Gennaro, Zero Otto Nove and more that set up outside booths on Arthur Avenue and give patrons a chance to dine al fresco and savor some of New York City’s best pizza, pasta, mozzarella and cannoli. In addition, as one of the sponsors of the event, Little Italy in the Bronx will debut its new Tuscan wheat pasta line (along with its celebrated sauces) at Ferragosto, which features wheat from the Tuscan countryside and water from the springs of Valdichiana. www.bronxlittleitaly.com / www.ferragosto.com
