Giveaway: Tickets to NYBG’s Totally Tomatoes Weekend

It’s Totally Tomatoes Weekend at the New York Botanical Garden on August 10th and 11th and we’re celebrating with a family 4-pack ticket giveaway to one lucky Bronxmama reader. Firs, read more about the event and then scroll down for your chance to win.

The Details:

Tip your garden hat to this favorite summer fruit as we celebrate all things tomato with a delicious menu of hands-on gardening and culinary education activities throughout the state-of-the-art Edible Academy campus. Roll up your sleeves, don your apron, and dig into fun and enriching workshops all weekend long.

 

Gardening Activities

10 a.m.–5:30 p.m.

Start a garden, help harvest crops, and meet our Global Gardeners with drop-in, hands-on activities throughout the Edible Academy.

 

Culinary Demonstrations

10:30 a.m.; 12, 1:30, 3, & 4:30 p.m.

Ongoing garden and culinary workshops presented by garden educators, local chefs, and culinary educators feature the colors and flavors of the tomato in all its shapes and sizes. Samples will be shared following each workshop. Keep an eye out for the full lineup of chefs.

 

Makers Station

10 a.m.–5:30 p.m.

Create your own personalized apron and mix up your own tasty bruschetta herb mix.

 

Tours & Family Fun

10 a.m.–5:30 p.m.

Celebrate Totally Tomatoes Weekend with puppet shows, tours of NYBG’s vegetable gardens, and tastings of our favorite heirloom tomatoes in the E.A.T. Lab.

  1. Looks like a cute event! Best recipe with tomato is just plain sliced tomato as a sandwich. Cold tomato sliced, salt, a little mayo… that’s it! So yummy on a hot day!!!
