Last night members of the community filled the auditorium at Lehman High School to hear from NYC Parks about the restoration of the Orchard Beach Pavilion. Bronxites had the chance to meet the architects, learn more about the process, and share their ideas for the future of Orchard Beach.
Attendees also had the opportunity to break into groups and give their thoughts on what kinds of things they’d like to see at the beach, and what things they could do without. Among the groups, many were interested in things like local food vendors, beach rentals, and family games. Most were not interested in local retail or private event space.
Your feedback is needed so that the final plans for the Pavilion can include the interests of everyone! Share your ideas at bit.ly/orchardbeach.
