Book Clubs in the Bronx

Looking to join a local book club in the Bronx? We’ve done our best to gather a list of local book clubs that meet up in the Bronx. We’ll continue to add to this list as we find more meet ups.

Boogie Down Book Club

This book club is run by Boogie Down Books and meets at local eatery Mottley Kitchen.

Description: Boogie Down Book Club is a Bronx-based book club for teens and adults who love young adult literature. We read recently released books that appeal to YA readers of all ages and that are reflective of the backgrounds, experiences, and identities of our community. Boogie Down Book Club seeks to promote empathy, understanding, and a lifelong love of reading by bringing together teens and adults from varied walks of life around a shared passion for books. Free and open to the public, RSVP required. No purchase necessary.

Bronx Lattes & Literature 

A Meetup book club that meets at local cafes in The Bronx, Harlem, and lower Westchester.

Description: Bronx Lattes & Literature is a group for book lovers to discuss contemporary fiction and non-fiction books. We will have bi-monthly meetups at local cafés in The Bronx, Harlem and lower Westchester. We’ll start with small groups to get to know each other and focus on discussing our book pick without the distraction of big brunches or dinners.

New York Public Library

One Book One Bronx

ONE BOOK ONE BRONX is a free adult book club that meets weekly to host vibrant discussions and build community around a diverse selection of books. Free to join, and free books available! http://www.onebookonebronx.com

Readers & Shakers

The Lit Bar owner Noelle Santos started this book club on the Meetup website, which now has 736 members.

Description: Readers & Shakers is a hybrid book club for women, based in New York City. Each month, a book (genre will vary) is carefully curated to inspire us members to live our best life! We host intriguing book club discussions and incorporate our book’s premises and settings into fun, real-life activities & travel. There are no reading or attendance prerequisites to join our meet-ups, so this club is perfect for the new girl in town or the busy boss-babe.

  1. One Book One Bronx is a new style book club that gets people reading again. Every week, we engage in a literary “call and response” by reading and discussing books that inspire, encourage, and delight readers. Free to join and the first 25 attendees receive a free copy of the book.
