Earlier this month we teamed up with the New York Dolls Collection to bring an afternoon of cheer to a wonderful group of girls in the Bronx. Each girl enjoyed manicures, a hot cocoa bar, and went home with their very own Harper Doll- who happens to be from the Bronx! It was a beautiful afternoon and thanks to Oriental Trading- it came out exactly as we envisioned. If you’re thinking about hosting a holiday get together in the next coming weeks, then we’ve got some inspiration for you.
We hosted our event at the historical Huntington Library- so we knew we were not going to cover the beautiful wood tables. Instead- we decided to create a runner with garland, lights, and some other decor along the center. I instantly fell in love with these adorable green sisal trees and cute buffalo plaid 3D centerpieces. So we scattered them along the center of the table along the garland. We also placed pine cones we collected along the middle- giving it a beautiful woodsy look.
For the plates- we went with these burlap circles with gold plastic plates. Originally we wanted to place matching buffalo plaid napkins in the center of the plates- but unfortunately they were sold out.
When it comes to winter, I know that kids love hot chocolate. So immediately I knew I wanted to create a hot cocoa bar with our friends over at Morris Perk. And as usual, Oriental Trading did not disappoint with these adorable white plastic coffee cups. At $9.99 for a pack of 20, they looked adorable with these red chevron paper straws inside.
As for the hot cocoa bar, Lovie from Morris Perk put together a delicious table of toppings for her signature hot cocoa. Guests were able to top their hot chocolate with whipped cream and then a variety of toppings- like marshmallows, chocolate chips, sprinkles, toasted coconut, and more!
The end result was beautiful and we couldn’t have been more pleased. With a mix of new items from Oriental Trading mixed with items from our own holiday collection, it was a day to be remembered.
