Grape Stomping at Benmarl Winery

Looking for a fun day trip idea in the Hudson Valley? Last weekend we ventured to Benmarl Winery for their annual grape stomping event for a fun afternoon of wine tasting, live music, and amazing views. While the grape stomping is just one weekend a year, Benmarl is still the perfect place to visit for a couple’s day date or a Sunday Funday with friends.

The ticket to the grape stomping included a tasting ticket- which are normally $10 for 6 wines.

The winery offers tours on the hour, so we jumped right in one that was beginning as we arrived. There we learned a lot of interesting information about the winery and wine making. We even had the chance to go downstairs to the cellar and see some of their vintage bottles.

We then grabbed our picnic basket and found a table to enjoy the lunch we packed. There is food available for purchase also, but a nice picnic lunch to pair with a bottle of wine from the tasting room is the perfect way to spend the day.

After, we got to stomping! It was a lot of fun. And our feet felt insanely good afterwards. We then spent the rest of our time drinking a bottle of wine we purchased and overlooking the gorgeous views from the winery. On our way out, we grabbed some apple cider donuts and devoured them on the way home while they were still warm and crispy.
