As summer winds down, I’ve been slowly organizing and making small changes around the house. On a rainy day or a moment I find myself with an extra burst of energy, I organize a closet, or go through a room. One project I’ve been working on is my girl’s shared bedroom. When it comes to a room for both a 5 and 11 year old, I wanted to be sure to create a room that is age appropriate for both of them.
At some point, I realized there was sort of a travel theme in their room. It may have began with a suitcase from Gia’s 2nd birthday party, but it has grown to a pretty reminder of exploration. That’s why when I laid my eyes on this gorgeous map from Wall Pops, I knew it was made for their room. It’s still quite a work in progress, but so far I am loving the pop of color and design from this wall decal. And it’s great knowing I can remove it and take it wherever we end up- as it’s definitely a piece that will fit into their room design for years to come.
It’s not easy creating in this small space- and in such a drab side of the room with no windows- but we’re making it work.
