Rock Painting & Game Night in Virginia Park

If you’ve passed by Virginia Park in Parkchester recently, then you’ve probably noticed the awesome art installation by local artist and owner of Morris Perk, Lovie Pignata. With retired canoes, Lovie created a replica of the Bronx River right underneath the 6 train. And as we’ve mentioned, on Friday nights from 6 to 8, Bronxites can stop by and enjoy playing with oversized board games for a fun Friday Game Night. Recently, we teamed up with Oriental Trading to also bring rock painting to the weekly game night.

The rock painting is part of our newly formed rock hunting group, #TheBronxRocks. So we were excited to have Oriental Trading send over paint, brushes, and palettes for Bronxites to use on their found rocks. If you’re in the area, find a few cool rocks and head over to create a masterpiece- plenty of paint and brushes to go around!

When: Fridays from 6 to 8pm (weather permitting)

Where: Virginia Park, located on White Plains Road near the 6 train station

What: Bring a few cool rocks you’ve found and clothes you don’t mind getting messy

If you’re not able to make it out, but want to participate in our rock hunting group- head over to Oriental Trading for affordable painting supplies. Here’s what we picked up:

Wonderful White Bristles Easel Brush Set

Watercolor Paint Brushes
