New Installation in Virginia Park Features Canoes & Oversized Board Games

 

If you’re in the area, be sure to pass by Virginia Park in Parkchester to see Bronx artist Lovie Pignata’s new installation that was just revealed on Monday. The installation- entitled Daylighting, features retired canoes and a painted blacktop to resemble the Bronx River and highlights the importance of our unique waterway. Visitors can also enjoy oversized board games, which will be out at certain points throughout the installation’s run.

 

 

Thanks to Uniqlo, Lovie was chosen via an Arts in the Parks grant to create this fun feature that gives passerby a fun reason to stop, relax, and chat with neighbors.
