The day after Valentine’s Day I stopped in a supermarket in the Poconos to pick up some things for our trip. As I walked in I noticed an employee was deflating all of the red heart shaped balloons that hadn’t sold the day before, and I remember thinking wow that’s it- the one day to celebrate love is over. I always smile when I see posts on Valentine’s Day expressing that every day is Valentine’s Day and that we don’t need a holiday to remind us to show our loved ones how we feel. But unfortunately not everyone is as comfortable expressing themselves. Fabric Softner brand Snuggle found a significant proportion of people (37%) admit to being challenged when it comes to expressing heart-felt emotion to those they care about.
To help with this, Snuggle set up a Snuggle Bear Den in the streets of New York City a few days before Valentine’s Day to encourage us tough New Yorkers to stop for a moment and write love notes to their loved ones, get a warm hug from Snuggle Bear himself, and even have a chance to meet #TheReal cohost Loni Love.

It was only right that a brand like Snuggle and a celeb with love in her name came together to encourage other’s to express themselves to those they care about. The love notes were then posted on a massive digital billboard for all to see as they walked by. Visitors to the Bear Den were even given their own little plush Snuggle Bears and product samples. It was such a cute event that helped warm up a very cold February day in NYC and I loved seeing the smiles on people’s faces as they walked away with the classic Snuggle Bear to bring home to someone they loved.
Just because February is coming to an end and all of the heart shaped candies are half off or replaced by St Patrick’s Day goodies, doesn’t mean that we have to wait another year to show our loved ones how much we care about them. Thanks to Snuggle for this wonderful-and cuddly- reminder.
