New York City Kids! at Throggs Neck Library

From very humble beginnings Music for Aardvarks has blossomed over the years into many things: It’s 16 original CDs, with over 250 songs and counting. It’s music videos airing daily on Nick Jr TV. And it is one of the most imaginative and original interactive music sessions for babies and toddlers out there. Lego Robotics & Engineering at Francis Martin Library

With over 15 years of experience in the field of classroom robotics, RoboFun has pioneered the use of LEGO® Robotics as a tool for students to explore and create while learning essential STEM skills. Through a series of project-based activities, students design, construct, and program several interactive, autonomous robots using the MindStorms NXT kits. RoboFun classes provide an opportunity for students of all skill levels to learn by doing in a creative and rewarding environment.

Participating artists include Rhonda Asher, Ernesto Camacho, Elaine Langer, Amarylis Leon, Abraham Levy, Nishanth Gopinathan, Nidhin Nishanth, Miriam Quin, and James Sexer Rodriguez.

Holiday Train Show

10:00 a.m.6:00 p.m.

See enchanting model trains zip through a display of 150 landmarks, each re-created with bark, leaves, and other natural materials—all under the twinkling glow of the Enid A. Haupt Conservatory.

Marvel at G-scale locomotives humming along among familiar sights such as the Brooklyn Bridge, Statue of Liberty, and Rockefeller Center—surprising at every turn—on nearly a half-mile of track.

Please note: Advanced reservations are strongly recommended. To purchase tickets, please visit the New York Botanical Garden’s website. The New York Botanical Garden is open Tuesdays through Sundays (closed on Mondays).

Outside of the Bronx:

One event we find worth mentioning that is outside of the Bronx is New Roc City’s New Year at Noon Event.

For the 6th year in a row, New Roc City will offer their festive ‘Ring in the New Year at Noon’ event for kids ages 2 – 10 in the atrium from 10:30 am – 12:30 pm. Parents and kids will enjoy an exciting Times Square simulated atmosphere in a safe and fun environment. Check it out here.
