Come have a last look at the popular ¡Presente! The Young Lords in New York exhibition, closing Sunday at the Bronx Museum on October 18. Exhibition curators, artists, writers and members of the Young Lords Party will be on hand to sign the newly-released catalog accompanying the tripartite exhibition. Copies of the catalogue for sale during the event. Co-sponsored by NYU Latino Studies.
OPEN HOUSE NEW YORK

For Open House New York, a Bronx Museum Artist Educator will offer guests a short tour of the award-winning 16,000 sq. ft. North Wing designed by Arquitectonica as well as the ¡Presente! The Young Lords in New York exhibition, the first museum survey to examine the radical social group founded by Puerto Rican youth in New York and Chicago in the 1960s.

OPENING RECEPTION: TRANSITIONS

Join us for an opening reception for Transitions: New Photography from Bangladesh, presented by The Bangladeshi American Creative Collective (BACC). Transitions features nine Bangladeshi photographers whose work reflects a diverse group of people, shifting economies, and changing lands.

THE MOTH STORYSLAM
Friday, October 30, 7:00pm to 10:00pm
Join us for a Bronx StorySLAM hosted by The Moth. Arrive by 7pm for the opportunity to put your name in The Moth “hat”. At 7:30pm names are picked, and one by one, storytellers take the stage to tell a five minute story about the theme of the evening, A FINE MESS. Of the ten featured storytellers, one winner is chosen. Tickets available on themoth.org.
