It’s already the end of September, which means there are only five weekends of October to enjoy as much outdoor fall fun as possible. We know that’s not a lot of time- especially with all of the fall fun happening here in the Bronx and any farm trips you may have planned, but one place you should definitely visit is the Halloween Harvest at Luna Park in Coney Island. From September 26th through November 1st, Luna Park is transformed into a fun Halloween themed park with lots of activities to do alongside all of the fun rides.
Step inside Red Riding Hood’s Pumpkin Patch where your little ones can walk through a maze of corn, pick a pumpkin from Grandma’s Pumpkin Patch, and paint their pumpkins. Smocks are provided and you have the option to leave your pumpkin to dry while you go on more rides.
Visit Camp Luna, a fun mini campground for the little ones where they can enjoy s’mores, and hear camp stories.
Visit craft stations for some coloring and creative fun. This is also a great way to let the older siblings go on a ride while the little ones are entertained as well.
Head over to Jack’s Pumpkin Shack, where you can guess the weight of the gigantic pumpkin and win up to $1000 in prizes.
Head over to the Monster Mash stage for some fun dance performances and other fun activities. We even took part in a mummy wrapping contest!
If you’re brave enough, try out the Kooky Spooky Kareoke station. Gia and her friend Kara went for Frozen’s “Let it Go” of course, and even drew a crowd.
Of course, the best part of Luna Park are the rides! What better way to spend a fall afternoon than with Halloween activities, thrilling rides, and some funnel cake?
