WED, JULY 1    OUTDOOR MUSIC:  LUMIERE STRING QUARTET

As cool breezes blow off the Hudson and the sun sets over the Palisades, enjoy an outdoor concert on the Great Lawn. Each Sunset Wednesday, New York City musicians capture the vibrant colors of summer in performances that feature jazz, popular music, show tunes and original songs. Tonight, the Lumiere String Quartet, led by violinist Victoria Paterson—and including violinist Yuiko Kamakari, violist Eddy Malave and cellist Jennifer DeVore—offers arrangements of Broadway, popular and patriotic tunes. The Quartet performs regularly at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, presenting American music from all eras and genres, and its members play on Broadway and have been featured on “Late Night with David Letterman” and “The View” and “Kelly & Michael” with artists Diana Krall, Joss Stone and A Great Big World.  Visitors may bring a chair or sit on the lawn to enjoy the music. No blankets, please. Free with admission to the grounds.
