If you haven’t already planned a fun day out on Sunday, check out some last minute ideas we have. And before you go crazy trying to think of the perfect gift, check out what our contributing Bronxpapa had to say about Father’s Day:

Keeping it Simple

By Eric Katechis

It’s Fathers day again! Maybe it’s just being a new father myself but I feel like Fathers day has been gaining momentum and has become less about who isn’t and now more about who is being a father to their child. The thing that hasn’t changed is the puzzle of what to get a man for this day! The normal standbys are of course ties and socks but is that to stay the picture you think of when it comes to this day? I asked a group of fathers for their opinion and their take will surprise most moms.

Of the Dads I asked 100% of them asked for this on the top of their list; all they wanted was a nice quiet day. A day with their family just relaxing and enjoying each other. When asked if they wanted anything materialistic to go with that day most of them couldn’t think of anything off the top of their heads nearing the quiet day.

So! We’re not so different after all ladies! Maybe your man won’t voice it due to expectations placed on the day but we’re all looking to appreciate each other more in a quiet way.

Where to Go

As Eric mentioned, time spent together giving dad a relaxing day is always welcomed. If dad is simple, maybe just a nice BBQ with family and sports is the perfect afternoon. If you’re looking for ideas of places to go in the Bronx, here are some suggestions.
