It was a morning of health and fitness that Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. hosted as part of the Bronx’s #Not62 campaign. #Not62 was created to combat the fact that the Bronx continues to be last out of all 62 counties in New York State when it comes to health. So the Bronx is on a mission to promote a healthier borough and we are joining in on the ride!

During Health Day, there were lots of great fitness classes happening right in front of Bronx Borough Hall. There was even rock climbing right on the Grand Concourse. Many health services and other organizations were present- including Windows of Hip Hop (who started a Hip Hop Health Initiative), The Bronx Children’s Museum, and Sweet Water Yoga. The Bronxmama table was a hit with our selection of healthy items for Bronxites to try.

Aquaball: Flavored water for children with no sugar added, enhanced with vitamins.  www.aquaballdrink.com

Ground 2 Table: Organic, single use packets of spice blends with no sugar or salt added. Use only what you need and eat less thanks to great flavor. www.g2t.com

Veggie Gos: Organic fruit snacks that contain 1/2 serving of fruit and 1/2 serving of veggie in each strip. Organic, gluten free, no sugar added. www.nakededgesnacks.com

Thanks to Aquaball, Ground2Table, and Veggie-Gos for sending over samples for those who attended Health Day to try. Be sure to try them for your family this summer and to tag #not62 when sharing your healthy lifestyle changes on social media.
