
Four extraordinary artists from Soledad Barrio and Noche Flamenca will perform traditional flamenco presenting a range of comedy, joy, and sadness through dance. Artist and choreographer Nia Love will perform her new project entitled Recognize, an exploration of interpersonal relationships, with her young son, virtuoso drummer Kojo Roney.

As part of Jane’s Walk Weekend, Bronx native Sam Goodman, and urban planner in the Office of the Bronx Borough President, will lead a tour of the Grand Concourse. While visiting key sites along this major thoroughfare, Goodman will provide a brief history of the Grand Concourse and explain the development of its diverse neighborhoods and communities. The Bronx Trolley stops at the Bronx Museum where author Julian Voloj will discuss his graphic novel Ghetto Brother: Warrior to Peacemaker with Benjamin Melendez, the protagonist of the book, as well as Joseph Mpa, a former Black Panther activist.

The Bronx Museum partners with The Bronx Writers Center at the Bronx Council on the Arts and the PEN World Voices Festival of International Literature to host two workshops for writers followed by a panel of noted African writers in conversation about the importance of elders in life and art.
