Marketing & Advertising Solutions Inc. (MAS), in conjunction with Argus Community Inc. and Boom! Health will present the Bronx Health Jamboree this Saturday, April 4th. It will be located at Hostos Community College Gymnasium from 12pm-4pm.
Argus Community Inc. and Boom! Health have collaborated to form a wonderfully, innovative program called, Latinos Educating Ourselves About Obesity (LEAO), that represents the five boroughs of New York City. It is a United stand against Obesity! The LEAO was formed last January by a group of individuals that represent 16 agencies from the five boroughs of New York City. The LEAO’s mission is to increase awareness and to reduce the prevalence of obesity in Latino/Hispanic communities in NYC. A mental health awareness campaign will be executed to help bring awareness of the connection between obesity and depression, along with the dissemination of educational materials. Member organizations, from the respective boroughs, have formed collaborative partnerships and will implement a cycle of events that will continue throughout the year! The various planned activities include, but is not limited to, music rides, games, Zumba, Basketball, health screenings, light refreshments and more! All Bronx residents are welcomed to attend.
