Dollar Store Finds

If your budget is seriously limited this year, don’t let it stop you from giving your family and friends (or yourself!) a great holiday experience. With the right eye, you can score some great decor options at your local dollar store.

Our second year of hosting Thanksgiving, I ran to my local dollar store and bought plates, wine glasses, clear vases, candle stick holders, place mats. and extra utensils. I already had a set of cloth napkins, so I went out and bought more that matched then stopped at Marshalls for the branches for the centerpiece- although branches from outside would have worked just as well. I also stuck leaves inside the vases and used a large white tablecloth. For our table, we rented two square tables and additional chairs from a local party rental store for less than $40.

For less than $100 I was able to give our guests a nice table setting and keep all of it for future holidays-. It’s not your grandmother’s china, but it’s a lot nicer than paper or plastic.

Nature’s Decor

The great thing about the holidays is that nature itself makes a great centerpiece. Leaves, branches, and acorns all make perfect accents to your table decor. In the winter, pinecones become great accents- just be sure to clean everything off!

Wreaths

Wreaths are a must have for the holidays, and we absolutely love this Magnolia Woodsy Wreath from Creekside Farms. This gorgeous wreath is decorated with tallow berries, pinecones and hints of blue.

Pillows

One great way to add some Thanksgiving and fall decor to your home is by switching up the pillows on your seating areas. These Thankful burlap pillows from an Etsy shop are perfect.

The Drink

Sparkling Wine

Anna de Codorníu Sparkling Wine is the perfect go to bottle to have for entertaining, a hostess gift, or just a night in with friends. Not only is the taste great, but both the look and price are awesome too. Each season the bottle changes a bit, so it always looks great among your holiday decor.
