Local Getaway: Allegria Hotel

As summer winds down and everyone tries to cross items off their bucket lists, it’s a great time for a nice weekend or day staycation. We just checked out the Allegria Hotel in Long Beach, Long Island and it was a great choice for wrapping up the summer getaways.

Great for a nice relaxing weekend alone without the kids, the Allegria hotels offers chic modern rooms with views of the ocean or the NYC skyline. There’s a rooftop pool with amazing views, and guests can enjoy their day on the beach with lounge chairs, cabanas, towels, and umbrellas- even after check out.

We just happened to be coming from a weekend with family in Long Island, so we brought the kids with us. It was nice to see how the hotel was for a family with children, and still be able to check out the amenities we can enjoy when we go back for some alone time.

First Impression

As soon as you walk into the lobby of the Allegria hotel, you immediately feel like you’re in a chic beach resort. There you will find the entrance way to both the restaurant (Atlantica) or the lounge (L’Onda). Both are located right on the boardwalk and have gorgeous views of the beach.

The Rooms

Since the kids were with us, we opted for double beds and had a room on the side of the hotel which gave us a view of both the ocean and the NYC skyline. Beds were made in all white, adding to the beachy feel. A  wine fridge was located underneath glass shelving, perfect for late night drinks and lounging with the double windows open- letting in the ocean breeze.

In room dining is offered 24 hours and if you must do some work, the desks are equipped with high speed internet right next to the window.

The Amenities

Located on the roof is a great pool with the most amazing views you will see in Long Beach. We hit the pool first thing in the morning before checkout, and then grabbed our beach gear and headed down. The hotel has it’s own private tunnel to the beach, so after getting our resort passes we picked a spot to spend the rest of our day right on the sand. Since kids were in tow, we opted for a cabana to shield them from the sun and beach chairs for us to lounge. There is also beach concierge service, so you can get drinks, snacks, and even that forgotten sunscreen right to your chair.

We spent the rest of the day on the beach, enjoying the white sand and light waves. The kids made sand castles and avoided naps, and we went home happy.

Our Take

While it was fun with the kids, we definitely want to go back for some alone time so we can enjoy the rest that the hotel has to offer. It’s great to be able to feel like you’ve gone far from home when you don’t have the time to really go away. They’ve done a great job at making the hotel feel chic and beachy, which is exactly what we love in a longer vacation. The Allegria really makes you want to lounge and relax- so we are excited to plan a trip back. For more information about the hotel and its amenities, visit www.allegriahotel.com.

While we were given a stay at the Allegria, we were not compensated for our opinion, and they are our own.
